The original graphic was drawn by Andy Anderson himself and released on his own custom shaped Protest deck manufactured by Folk Skateboards in 2015. There were only 30 of these decks released at the time they came out and this was the original shape that led to Andy’s iconic Heron Flight Deck shape with Powell Peralta, the number 1 selling skateboard deck in the world…

I Helped Build HM Industries Collector Deck
Awesome news! To add to the “I Helped Build HM Industries” Sales Campaign Protest Skateboards is creating a limited edition 50 board run where all the profits will be donated straight to the renovations and building of the skate park. These decks will be manufactured by Gnarlywood LLC and are now available for Prebook for $100 a piece and will be ready to ship in November. I Helped Build HM Industries Campaign
We are excited to announce a
new Indoor Skateboard Park and Retail Skate Shop coming to Hope BC simply
titled HM Industries. Hippie Mike has finally found a place to call his own
where he can combine all of his talents under one roof. A place for Skateboard
Sales, Lesson Programs, and Shredding all year in an Indoor Park, along with an
awesome Workshop in the back where he can build custom order Ramps and other
fun wood projects.
Mike has taken over the old Rona Building in Hope and is ready to start
renovating right away, but he needs your help. We have created a fundraising
campaign to assist in helping to buy building materials for all the renos, any
necessary permits, and pay for any electrical and plumbing work that need to
take place before being able to build the park. ALL profits from every Tshirt
and Hoody sold in this campaign will go directly to the creation of the
facility which we are hoping to have open sometime in November, so Please Help

Oli Ward Joins the Protest Movement
Protest Skateboards would like to welcome their newest Team Rider. 12 year old Oli Ward is a natural on his board, not only does he showcase his awesomeness with little to no effort, he reminds us of a young Andy Anderson. The way he chooses a bigger board with rails on it, rocks the helmet and knee pads properly, and just skates everything with ease, this kid is definitely a “Skater for Life!” We’re stoked to have him grow with us… Check him out here in his natural habitat at Queens Park in New Westminster, BC, and welcome him to the team

Protest Movement, created by Hippie Mike, is a unique skateboard company that loves to change the way the world judges people. In this latest short film the team shows off who they are and why each one of them is different. With 8 year old Kaelen Faux (aka Big Rip) pushing Mongo as hard as he can every chance he gets, Jay Mykyte showing off his effortless style and skill level in the streets, Ryan Brynelson being purely committed to a lifetime of Freestyle skateboarding, Hippie Mike building his own spot to skate in the middle of the mountains in between 2 knee surgeries, and Eve Feaver reminding us that age is nothing but a number that gives you more experience than others, this video showcases 5 skaters who are 5 completely different people that all love one thing – skateboarding.

Protest Diversity Video Premiere and Best Trick Contest at SBC Recap
Another awesome event by Protest Movement, hosted by Hippie Mike and backed up by DJ Layback (Jeff Cole) it was off to SBC Restaurant to showcase their latest Skateboard Video and give away some Cash and Prizes during a Best Trick Contest in the best Mini Ramp in Vancouver. 60 feet of pure speed, escalators, wallrides, copings and pool block, this ramp is made to have fun.
Doors opened at 6pm and the kids started rolling in for warm up. The beginner and Intermediate sessions went down between 7 & 8pm before the video showed. The beginner category was great to watch as 4 young rippers gave’r everything they had for 15 minutes to try and win some gear. Gus Jackson took 1st place with a layback frontside rock on the pool block section and everyone was stoked.
When the Intermediates started the crowd was started to grow so the energy level was high, these kids must have been feeling it because they were going off. Lipslides, reverts, texas plants, and big airs, watching the intermediates made you really wonder what was going to happen during advanced. James Martin won it with an air to wall ride backside 180 melon in the 4 foot section, it was solid.
The video played at 8pm and the crowd was loving it. Diversity is a short film with interviews from all the skaters followed by parts filmed in 1 day each. Starring Big Rip Kaelen Faux, Jay Mykyte, Ryan Brynelson, Hippie Mike and Eve Feaver, The video was named Diversity for many reasons, with an age range from 7 years old to 45, different styles of skaters and skating, and different opinions from all the riders on what makes skateboarding awesome.

After the video it was back to business in the ramp. All participants paid $10 to enter the contest and the money was divided into prize money for the Advanced and Ladies categories, $85 for the Ladies and $175 for the Advanced, both to be split 3 ways.
The Ladies took the stage first and were well supported from the crowd for the full 15 minutes. Carrie Williams, Mels Bells and Alexis MacRae were shredding the whole mini and putting down solid maneuvers but Kristen Landry took the top prize with a solid fake shovit disaster in the 4 foot. 50 bucks and a new Protest deck, nothing wrong with that.
Then it was time for the finale, the Advanced riders headed up to the ramp and things got heavy for a top prize of $100 and a fresh deck. Jeff Muirhead kicked things off with the hardest slam of the night bouncing off of the flatbottom from way up the wall. Brandon Cotton showed that he needs all 60 feet of the ramp just to roll in and get his line started, nobody goes as fast as this guy and his skills make the speed 10 times more fun to watch. Adam George got upside down on the pool coping when he wasn’t flying through the air at high speed, Eve Feaver brought his usual 80’s style of tweaked airs and coping tricks, and DJ Layback even got in there with some sick layback action. But Stepan Soroka was the guy to beat almost touching hi head on the ceiling just to set up for grinds on the pool block section. Stepan took first place with a huge and fast frontside 5-0 grind across the pool block and ollie out down the drop into the 4 foot section. It left the place echoing with noise from everybody there.
It was a great show, and everyone had a blast.
